PM Modi’s Melbourne Visit to Boost India–Australia Trade and Investment Ties

In a significant step towards further strengthening India–Australia bilateral relations, Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, will undertake an official visit to Melbourne from July 8 to 10, 2026, at the invitation of Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Albanese, focusing on deepening strategic cooperation and expanding engagement across key sectors including trade, investment, technology, education, energy, and regional security. The meeting is expected to reinforce the growing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

Prime Minister Modi will also call on Sam Mostyn, Governor-General of Australia, underscoring the importance both countries place on strengthening diplomatic and people-to-people ties.

A key highlight of the visit will be Prime Minister Modi’s participation in the India–Australia CEOs Forum, where he will address leading business executives and industry leaders from both countries. The forum is expected to provide a strong platform to promote bilateral trade, encourage new investments, and explore emerging opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, agribusiness, digital innovation, and critical minerals.

The Prime Minister’s interaction with top business leaders is likely to further boost economic collaboration and pave the way for stronger commercial partnerships between Indian and Australian enterprises.

Another major event during the visit will be Prime Minister Modi’s address to a large gathering of the Indian diaspora in Australia.
